Fall 2014 OOTD "Beware of the Layers"

This post is from me and my friend's website called thethickskins.com

Fall is here. My favorite thing about this season is the approach of my favorite holidays, the cold breeze,  apple picking, and best of all being able to wear cozy attires. In this weather, I can make myself all warm and cozy just by adding on layers of clothes, no big coats necessary.
For this look, I wanted to be comfortable and warm since this weekend was chillier than usual. Here I’m wearing a leather jacket with a knit sweater over my mom jeans. I compliment my outfit with a flannel around my waist, my bass loafers, and my favorite hat. Lastly of course, I completed this look with my favorite fall piece which is make up. Fall lets me experiment with darker shades of make up which is really fun. For my lips I’m wearing a MAC matte lipstick called “Diva”, which is a really dark red color.

DIY WRAPPED NECKLACE

Love finding new crafts to keep for myself. I've always wanted to buy those diy crystal wrapped necklaces but they were always so expensive or too overpriced, especially sites like Brandy Melville and Urban Outfitters. So I got these things from an arts and craft store in Harlem for less than $15.

Harlem Daze

From 137th to 125th!!! What a walk. Explored parts of Harlem that I've never got to explore. New grubs and new shops.

Target Haul

So I bought three different kinds of liquid eyeliner because I'm testing which is my favorite drugstore liquid eyeliner. I've been using my MAC one which I thought was my favorite because of the applicator brush but I realized it wasn't all great since it does smudge and on top of that it's overpriced. The MAC liquid eyeliner cost $19 and it looks exactly like the Revlon applicator which cost about $7. The Revlon Colorstay actually launched this new formula and brush called Skinny so you can precise lines. I heard a lot of good stuff about the Maybelline Stilleto so I wanted to give that a try too. I accidentally got the wrong color though. Instead of getting Extremely black, I didn't realize that it was brownish-black. Overall I like the brush because it's really easy to apply. For the NYX Super fat marker, I like it a lot but it smudges as well but this is probably my favorite felt tip liquid eyeliner pen.

I also bought Maybelline's BB Cream because I heard it offers good coverage for evening out your skin tone. Since my pimples are gone, I'm still left with a couple of scars which I'm trying to cover up with something not too heavy like a foundation. So far I'm pretty happy with the results and I'm happy that it offers sunscreen because it's perfect for the summer, especially if you want heavy foundation on you. The last thing I bought was the NYX matte lip cream. I've heard so many good reviews and personally I love it. For such a good price, it does wonders. The shade I got it in was SAO PAULO so it's very pink but what I usually do is after I put it on, I wipe a little off so it becomes a really nice lip stain.

Headphones Galore

I've been loving my UrbanEars since I got them for my 18th birthday. Despite that it's pricey for headphones, I love the colors they've got to offer. I recently found out that their new colors are based on the seasons were in which I find very hip and creative. The recent UrbanEars headphones I got is called the Bagis and let me tell you, I love the color so much!!! It's such a nice coral color and it's just handy and comfortable because I don't have to carry around the big Plattan headphones around. I also love the fact that it doesn't get tangled a lot because the wire is fabric so there's no hassle there. Overall, I love the product quality and the colors.
